A Bitter Sweet End to a Great Season
October 14, 2019
The Tiger’s football season came to a heartbreaking end when they suffered a 20-14 loss to Upperman on September 26th. Although the game didn’t fall our way, this game was one of the best and hardest fought games of the season. I sat down with Coach Jett, the Macon County Junior High football team’s head coach. This year was his first year as the head coach for the Macon County Junior high football team, so I was interested in hearing his perspective on the game and the season.
Q: What kept y’all from winning the game?
A: The game came down to the last play with 9 seconds left. It was third and goal on the 3 yard line, and we were down by 6 points. The quarterback threw an interception in the end zone on the last play of the game.
Q – What was your most proudest moment of the season?
A: My proudest moment during the season was when my team beat Avery Trace in the playoffs. Avery Trace was the #1 team and undefeated when we faced them.
Q: What is your plan for next year to be a better team?
A: My plan is to get the team bigger, stronger, and more physical during the off-season, so we will be ready for next season.
