Background
A famous novelist was born on October 8, 1943, and he is currently alive at the age of 79. He was named Robert Lawrence Stine, but he’s better know as R.L. Stine. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, but he grew up in Bexley, Ohio. Around the age of 10, Stine began writing after he found a typewriter.
Although his mom told him to go play outside, he, unlike other kids, thought playing outside was boring. He didn’t do well in school because of the interruptions he made in class. Once he graduated in 1965, he worked for The Sundial, a school humor magazine.
In 1969, he married a lovely lady that went by the name of Jane Waldhorn. Since she was a writer and editor, they wrote many stories together. R.L. Stine was able to publish his first horror story in 1986, and it was a hit! After many other horror books of his became popular, he thought kids liked to be scared more than they liked to laugh at joke books.
