Movie Description: In the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie Parker attempts to convince his parents, teacher, and Santa Claus that a Red Ryder Range 200 Shot BB gun really is the perfect Christmas gift.

9. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Movie Description: Sam the snowman tells us the story of a young red-nosed reindeer who, after being ousted from the reindeer games because of his beaming honker, teams up with Hermey, an elf who wants to be a dentist, and Yukon Cornelius, the prospector. They run into the Abominable Snowman and find a whole island of misfit toys.

8. Frosty the Snowman

Movie Description: A living snowman and a little girl struggle to elude a greedy magician who is after the snowman’s magic hat. A discarded silk top hat becomes the focus of a struggle between a washed-up stage magician and a group of schoolchildren after it magically brings a snowman to life.

7. A Charlie Brown Christmas

Movie Description: Depressed at the commercialism he sees around him, Charlie Brown tries to find a deeper meaning to Christmas. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism that he sees amongst everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant.

5. The Santa Clause

Movie Description: When a man inadvertently makes Santa fall off his roof on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place. Scott Calvin is disgusted to learn that his ex-wife, Laura, and her husband, Neil, have tried and failed to break it easy to their 6-year-old son, Charlie, that Santa Clause isn’t real.

4. The Polar Express

Movie Description: This is the story of a young hero boy who boards on a powerful magical train that’s headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus’ home on Christmas Eve night. During this ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery which shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

3. Nightmare Before Christmas

(some may say this isn’t a Christmas movie, but I think it is)

Movie Description: The story of 8-year-old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), a mischievous kid who feels largely ignored by his large extended family. While everyone is preparing for a Christmas vacation in Paris, Kevin gets in trouble, is banished to the attic overnight, and wishes his family would just disappear.
