Author of the Week: Erin Hunter

November 1, 2022
Erin Hunter is the author of the famous series “Warrior Cats”, “Seekers”, and “Survivors”. You may have wondered how she became an author, and I’m here to tell you.
Background
Victoria Holmes was the first one to ever join the Erin Hunter group. She was born on July 17, 1975, and she’s only 47 years old. She was originally born in Berkshire, London. When she was two, she learned to ride horses due to the fact that she lived on a farm.
She started out writing books about horses, but her love for cats started the “Warrior Cats” series. As she grew older, she went to the University of Oxford, and there she grew an interest in history. During her free time, she likes to ride horses on the English countryside in London.
Present Day
She loved to walk her dog, Missy, during her free time, but sadly, she was put down on August 10, 2015. Although she retired from writing stories and being diagnosed with cancer in 2017, she still writes stories. She sometimes dreams of being a cat and running through the forest like the cats in “Warrior Cats” do.
