The Mystical Wonders of Earth: Mosi Oa Tunya Falls

Ava Bartley

Also known as Victoria Falls, the Mosi Oa Tunya Falls is a waterfall located on the Zambezi River in southern Africa. The “Victoria” part is from Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, for the explorer who first saw it was European. The river is also split into two countries, Zimbabwe to the west and Zambia to the east. It is one of the world’s largest waterfalls, having a width of 1,708 m. It is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and was formed during the Jurassic Era (around 200 million years ago!). This means that a T-rex, and many other dinosaurs, had probably drank from it!
