Home Or Alone (4th Place Poem Contest Winner)

Shyane Buckalew, Student Writer

Please believe,

Believe me when I say,

That you have a true home

Here with me

With room to roam.

Oh just here with me

At home

A home doesn’t have to be a house

Or filled with complete strangers

Strangers that you call your family.

A home can be many things.

But it’s not a place where you live,

It’s a place that makes you want to grow old

A place where you love

A place of true happiness.

So believe me when I say,

If you don’t have a true home,

You don’t need to roam alone.

Just follow me to a place with wanted wear,

A place for you and I.
