The Embodiment of Diversity (3rd Place Poem Contest Winner)

Sasha Gass, Student Writer

Pick one, they say, “You can’t like both,” they say

Why can’t we be ourselves?

We don’t want to be discriminated

So if I may

Boys can like pink

Girls can wear blue

Your reaction

Is up to you

When someone is proud

Let them be who they want to be

Let boys be girls

Let girls be boys

Don’t hate on them because they are different

As it is still up to you

In fact you should be proud of them

For expressing their true colors

For they have decided to come out to you
