This year the winter Olympics are taking place in Beijing. They started on February 4 and will be ending on February 20.  As of right now, Germany is taking the lead with 6 first-place medals. Norway is right behind them with 5, Austria with 4, and the US with 3.

Lindsey Jacobellis, US snowboarding cross, earned the US its first 1st place. Nathan Chen and  Chloe Kim also received a 1st place medal.
