Most kids in Macon County play common sports like football, basketball, and baseball. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but there’s one sport that is offered in school that many kids don’t think about joining–golf!

The MCJH golf team only consists of a handful of players. Despite having a golf course right here in Macon County, most students don’t know much about it.

If you’re looking to try a new hobby or sport, you should give golf a chance. One reason is because you can spend quality time with family and friends. You can do this by having good conversations during play. Other sports do not offer this opportunity.

Another reason you should play golf is because it is not a strenuous sport, and you have a less chance of being hurt. It would be hard to get hurt because golf isn’t a contact sport.

Also, golf can be very relaxing. Golf helps produce mood-enhancing chemicals within our brains, making you feel happier and relaxed.

Finally, golf can teach players respect. This is because when you play with competitors, you have to be nice to them. It helps you keep a level head and play with sportsmanship.

Some people may believe that golf isn’t a very competitive sport, but it is! Each time you go out there, you try to play your best to beat your personal record. Not only are you competing with others, but you’re competing with yourself.
