4-H is Calling You!

4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States, but sadly, it is still somewhat underappreciated by today’s youth. Everyone should consider joining 4-H because it has tremendous benefits that cultivate life skills and build character. After all, its motto is “To make the best better!”

In 4-H, members develop numerous skills that can be used in everyday life. According to 4-H.Org, “[In 4-H], kids build life skills by leading hands-on projects in areas like science, health, agriculture, and civic engagement – helping them to grow confidence, independence, resilience, and compassion.” Judging teams, for instance, help young people learn to make wise decisions about common areas of life. Social projects, like speeches and demonstrations, build confidence and leadership skills for future endeavors. Other projects, like food science and crafts, develop knowledge to excel at everyday tasks.

Another reason 4-H is for everyone is the fun in it! 4-H members can choose from many projects that appeal to their interests, and learning new things is always enjoyable. Working hard in 4-H projects can lead to traveling to neat places for competitions that you may not get to experience otherwise. A favorite 4-H activity for many members is attending 4-H camp with their friends which allows them to make memories that will last a lifetime!

From exciting new experiences with friends to building life skills that will have a long-term impact, anyone can have a blast in 4-H. Join the fun!
