Since the school can’t host a formal for our 8th graders, some of the parents have stepped up to make it happen. After a meeting, they decided on when, where, and how to host it. All 8th grade teachers were given flyers to hand out to students, along with a google form that eighth graders were to fill out by putting two songs they love that they want to hear at their formal.

Location: The Barn on Church St. (538 Church Street, Lafayette, TN)

Date: March 27th, 2021

Time: 6-9

Cost: Tickets are going to cost $15 if you go on your own and $25 per couple. Ticket forms will be sent home on March the 3rd. 8th graders can purchase tickets from then until March 12th.

There will be a DJ!! You can wear any color as there is no set theme.

As most of you already know, there is going to be a formal. However, it is parent-sponsored, not school-sponsored. With Corona, the school couldn’t host it this year. So, some parents took the reins and formed a plan. They all had a meeting on Thursday, March 25, 2021. They decided that the 8th-grade class needed a formal. No question about it. They came up with lots of ideas and decided when and where to have it, along with other details.

The set date is March 27, 2021. That’s really soon! Ladies, if you are planning on going formal, be thinking about dresses. It’s only about a month away. Guys, ask your crush/girlfriend to formal. It doesn’t have to be in a big way! Be thinking of tuxedos/suits. 

The event will be held at 538 Church St, Lafayette, TN (AKA The Barn.) Formal is from 6-9 P.M. We are having a DJ, 8th grade teachers should have posted a link to music preferences. The Barn will be decorated by the owners, however, and there is no set theme. Wear whatever color/style you want.

Lastly, every 8th grader at MCJH is invited. Yes, you can bring a friend to go with you. You can take someone as a date (even if they aren’t in 8th grade) or you can choose to go as friends Just keep in mind the price of tickets. Tickets are $15 a person or $25 a couple.
